General Care Guidelines
- Spot Clean - Gently spot clean any stains or spills using a mild soap or detergent.
- Thorough Clean - Our stuffed animals can be gently hand washed with mild soap or detergent if required. Submerge in soapy water, gently knead, then submerge in non-soapy water to rinse. When done, wrap in a towel and gently press to remove any excess water.
- Air Dry - Allow the stuffed animal to air dry naturally after cleaning. If you live in a humid environment, it may be best to use a hand drier on cool setting to ensure the inner stuffing is completely dry.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals - Do not use bleach or harsh chemicals as they may damage organic materials.
- Regular Inspection - Periodically check the stuffed animal for any signs of wear or damage. Repair any loose seams or stitching promptly to prevent further damage.
Minimizing Allergens and Dust Mites
Our organic cotton stuffed animals are crafted with natural materials, making them a wonderful choice for individuals with sensitive skin.
If your child is allergic or sensitive to certain environmental allergens, here are some options to minimize allergen exposure (especially from dust mites):
- Regular Vacuuming: Use a vacuum with a HEPA filter to gently remove surface dust and allergens from the stuffed animal's surface. Be sure to use a low suction setting to avoid damaging delicate fibers.
- Freezing: Place the stuffed animal in a sealable plastic bag and put it in the freezer for a few hours. The cold temperatures will kill dust mites.
- Washing Machine: While not recommended as it can warp and decrease the durability of our stuffed animals, if you choose to do so, try washing animals with a load of towels to provide extra padding for the stuffed animal in the washing machine.
- Avoid humidity: Dust mites tend to thrive in humid conditions, so keeping your stuffed animals away from humidity can help prevent dust mites.
